As a financial broker it’s your job to make sure you’re acting as your clients’ financial wizard. In order to make them money, you’re following the latest market information, financial news, trends, analyses, research, tips and recommendations. But at the same time, you’re also acting as a salesman, marketer and customer sales rep as you look to grow your client base whilst meeting the demands of your existing client base. The daily grind is hectic and so is staying on top of everything that’s going on.
Hashtags can make life a tad simpler and perhaps more fun and interesting.
Hopefully you already have a Twitter profile. But if you don’t you can set one up in just a few minutes and start following trending conversations in the financial industry.
By following certain hashtags (aka the pound key - #) followed by keywords, you can instantly find out about trending conversations in the industry. (If you’re just starting out on Twitter, here’s a great Hashtag Guide by Mashable.)
Notice how Russell Investments is using the advisors hashtag to provide useful advice and information to financial advisors.
This super-useful hashtag is used in this example by Paul Bratby who’s sharing an important post he’s read.
By following a hashtag like this one, you can hit the jackpot of influencing money managers you should be following, like Rokas Beresniovas.
While customer service is a more general hashtag that is relevant to more than just financial professionals, you’ll still find some great value here like this great post by Juntae DeLane.
Here’s a great tweet by Keir Educational. Kind of makes you think you should be following them. (You should!)
